Agder Court of Appeals is one of the six ordinary appeal courts of Norway.
The Court hears appeals against decisions made in criminal and sivil cases in the ten district courts of South Norway, serving a population of appr. 654.000.
Agder Court of Appeals is located in Skien, but courtmeetings are also held on a regular basis in the court houses in Tønsberg, Arendal and Kristiansand.
The court is staffed by 21 judges, Head of Administration and 12 executive officers.
In each case three judges will serve, in criminal cases usually together with lay judges or a jury. The Court’s decisions may be appealed to Norway’s Supreme Court in Oslo.
