Accreditation/access passes
Approximately 200 journalists have been accredited and assigned seats. This process was completed before Christmas. However, it is still possible to follow the case as a member of the public. To do so, you must collect an access pass, which is distributed every Monday for the court days from Tuesday to Friday of the same week.
Location: Borgarting Court of Appeal, Keysers gate 13, Oslo
Time: 09:30–14:30 (Mondays only)
It is not possible to reserve or pre-book seats.
Please note that there may be a queue and that seating is limited. Those who line up before 9:30 a.m. will be given a queue number when the reception opens at 8:00 a.m.
During the final week of the trial (16–19 March), distribution of access passes will begin at 8:00 a.m. There will be no court recess that week, and closing arguments will begin on Monday, 16 March at 9:30 a.m.

- It is prohibited to take photos or film the defendant – including on the way to and from the courthouse.
- It is prohibited to take photos or film inside the courtroom while the case is in session.
- In this case, audio recordings are prohibited – including on mobile phones.
- It may be prohibited to share certain information that you hear in the courtroom. In this case, it is forbidden to share information that could identify many of the complainants, their health or family situations, or other sensitive details. Share as little as possible on social media etc. if you want to be on the safe side.
Violation of these prohibitions may result in penalties or fines.
Show consideration for the parties and witnesses
Individuals who are parties or witnesses in a serious criminal case may be in a vulnerable situation and have not chosen to be there. It can be burdensome to speak about personal matters, especially when unfamiliar people are present.
As an observer, you can help provide parties and witnesses with calm and a sense of security so they can give their statements clearly, ensuring the court receives the best possible information. You do this by keeping a respectful distance, avoiding photographing or filming anyone who does not wish it, and taking their privacy seriously.
Allow time for security screening
To enter the courthouse, you must go through a security check. You should therefore allow extra time.
Where is the trial being held?
The trial is held in courtroom 250 in Oslo District Court. It seats approximately 125 people. In addition, audio and video are transmitted to several other rooms on the same floor. The rules for what is allowed and prohibited are the same in both the main courtroom and the transmission rooms.
Many people need to enter and exit the courtrooms several times a day. Do not stop unnecessarily right outside the courtroom—help maintain good flow to avoid queues.
Food and drink
On the floor where the trial is held, there is a café that sells food, pastries, and coffee/tea. There is also a soft drink vending machine on the same floor.
