The Supreme Court is up-to-date at the start of its summer break

In Norway, the courts have seasonal breaks during Easter, summer and Christmas. The Supreme Court's Appeals Selection Committee hears cases as usual during all court breaks.

Following a long period of digital appeal hearings and work from home, all justices and employees of the Supreme Court were gathered Friday 26 June for a digital end-of-term ceremony. In her summer speech to all colleagues at the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice expressed pride in the fact that the Court – despite challenging working conditions – has managed to maintain the same level of activity. Only five hearings have been postponed to after the court break. The Chief Justice also thanked the Storting, the Government and the civil service for ensuring necessary legislative changes.
