New grand chamber hearing in the Supreme Court
The validity of the Ministry of Energy’s approval of the plan for the development and operation of petroleum fields in the North Sea
On 23 January 2026, the Supreme Court’s Appeals Selection Committee decided to grant the State, represented by the Ministry of Energy, leave to appeal against the judgment of the Borgarting Court of Appeal of 14 November 2025.
On the same day, the Chief Justice decided that the case is to be heard by the Supreme Court sitting as a grand chamber composed of eleven justices.
