Aggravated fraud committed through misuse of other people's identity

The penalty for contribution to three aggravated acts of fraud, 12 attempted aggravated acts of fraud, three acts of document fraud and six identify thefts, see section 190a of the Penal Code 1902, was one year and six months of imprisonment. The acts of fraud were committed by the use of other persons' identity, and consisted mainly of ordering expensive items online in other persons' names. The total potential loss was around NOK 624 000. With regard to the sentence, considerable importance was attached to the personal and societal consequences of this type of integrity-violating crime of gain. The activities were well planned and appeared professional. A reduction of four months was granted due to lengthy proceedings.
