One of the Supreme Court's justices was friends with a counsel. The friendship was previously very close. They still considered themselves close friends, they belonged to the same social circle and met on a regular basis. The justice himself found that he was probably disqualified, and two of the parties to the case had questioned his impartiality. With some doubt, the Supreme Court disqualified the justice, see section 108 of the Courts of Justice Act.
